Light in your hands and efficient upwind, we’ve engineered the Nova Pro with advanced materials and balanced tensioning for a precise response in all conditions - carving ocean swells, boosting or freestyling. For 2025, the Nova Pro is a lighter weight, more agile and streamlined wing, with reduced drag and better upwind angles. We’ve refined the profile for more positive lift, smoother transitions and less sensitivity to angle of attack changes, so whether you’re trailering downwind, surfing, or simply walking towards the water, the stability is instantly noticeable. The positive lift, combined with new radial canopy tensioning, also boosts the Nova Pro’s low-end power. Radial panel cuts create a cleaner canopy with less distortion, for reduced drag. Radial load diffusers reinforce the end of the strut and the wingtips, helping to distribute tension more evenly, and we’ve increased the proportion of the Matrix Canopy to 80%, for greater torsional strength. The extra load-carrying capacity of the Matrix canopy contributes to the Nova Pro's high-end, and increases the wind range, while the lighter canopy segment produces less tension in the front for a cleaner entry profile. The Nova Pro features our high-tensile N-Weave45 airframe material in the strut and the LE centre segment, for stiffness where you need it. We’ve placed anti-deflection uni-directional carbon tapes inside the entire length of the LE for a more reactive airframe that snaps back into shape faster. The strut is contoured to improve the wing's ergonomic feel, and prevent arm fatigue, when you ride with two separate handles. ShiftLock Carbon Wing Handles or Boom* are sold separately. *2.9m is only compatible with 950 Boom. *3.5m is compatible with 1100 and 950 Booms, however the Action Camera Mount can only be combined with the 950 Boom.

Tech Features

Lighter and more precise handling

The tip-to-tip span is slightly reduced. The centre part of the leading edge has less sweep and we’ve reduced the radius toward the tips, bringing the wingtips further forward. This moves the centre of lift forward, giving the wing more positive lift and stability. The lift pulls you forward and up during tacks and manoeuvres so that you can glide through turns and perform jumps and tricks with ease.

Balanced trailering

The majority of the lift is created in the centre part of the wing which reduces the amount of lift generated by the tips, thereby reducing the wing’s sensitivity to oscillation and helping you to maintain a stable, neutral position when you’re trailering. Whether you’re riding downwind swells, surfing, or simply walking towards the water, the stability is instantly noticeable. 

Active Twist Wingtips

To counteract the Hybrid Matrix radial panel layout and Hybrid N-Weave45 frame stiffness and ensure the wing remains stable at the top end, we’ve tapered the leading-edge diameter toward the wing tips and used a more flexible material. This allows the tip to deflect and dump any excess power. The tapered wingtips also reduce the wing's swing weight and drag, which helps with overall stability. The Carbon UDi Technology within the LE provides additional support and improves the response time for the tip to spring back.

Maximum low-end power & efficiency

The wing feels smooth to ride and is less sensitive to angle of attack changes. The refined profile section ensures a smooth laminar flow attachment from the LE to the TE (no turbulence)– so the wing retains positive nose lift through all angle of attack changes. This means fewer micro-adjustments in your hand positioning and a lighter feel. When you do a tack, it pulls upward and enables you to glide around effortlessly without any tail drop. It also contributes to the Nova Pro’s excellent loft and hangtime.

Hybrid Matrix Canopy

A stiffer canopy is essential because the loading increases with the more rigid airframe. The Nova Pro features our stiffer Matrix canopy in the high-load areas. The first 20% of the canopy in the front of the wing is a lighter-weight N-HTRS canopy material. Matrix is a high-performance stretch-resistant wing canopy material specifically designed to handle the higher loads of the N-Weave45 airframe. Compared to a traditional canopy, Matrix is 2.5x stronger in the 0/90deg warp/weft direction and 5x stronger in the 45deg bias direction. The stronger material gives your wing canopy greater structural integrity for longer, so it can maintain its designed shape over time, especially in overpowered conditions.

ShiftLock Modular Track Mounting

ShiftLock is a re-invention of the Bolt Rope system used in sailing - the most common and robust method to fix a sail to a mast. We’ve adapted this method for wing-foiling, using a double bolt-rope track. To prove the system’s strength and durability, we’ve carried out cyclic load and on-water testing for two years without failure or excessive wear. ShiftLock has a breaking load of well over 710kg. We’ve also kept the system light in weight. Two 500mm ShiftLock Carbon handles (with the track) are lighter than two standard 500mm wing handles. The rigid Carbon ShiftLock handles (sold separately) react instantly to your input, while the soft TPU handle ends help protect you and your board. There are five handle lengths, from the single 1100 or 950 boom to the 500, 400, and 250 mm handles.

Hybrid N-Weave45 Airframe

The N-Weave45 segment gives the wing a unique ride performance and crisp input response, with a more forgiving wing tip that twists off nicely during freestyle manoeuvres or wave riding. The ShiftLock track adds stiffness to the strut, making this wing even more reactive and direct, and having the hybrid construction in the airframe helps us to reduce the wing's overall weight even further.

Carbon UDi Technology

North Sails is renowned for using 3Di technology in their podium-proven racing sails. Chasing stiffness in the inflated airframe, we've introduced the same material in the Nova Pro with our new patent-pending Carbon UDi technology. For 2025 the Carbon UD tapes are placed on the inside, along the entire length of the leading edge, providing additional support and enabling us to reduce the LE diameter. This prevents unnecessary deformation while keeping the wing lightweight and responsive.

Thinner Leading Edge and Profile

Thanks to the Carbon UDi Technology we’ve been able to maintain the same airframe stiffness with a significantly reduced LE diameter. The thinner LE also gives the Nova Pro a slimmer overall profile, for reduced drag and better upwind angles.

Contoured GeoStrut

The shape allows you to hold your wing in a more comfortable riding position and can help relieve arm fatigue and elbow strain. Use in conjunction with the new ShiftLock J-Handle for maximum effect.

Connected Dual HyperFlow valves

This enables you to inflate the strut to a higher pressure than the leading edge, so you can adjust for the conditions and your style of riding (and deflate your wing faster).

ShiftLock Accessories

Add an Action Camera Mount or two ShiftLock Paddle Mounts, which can be used to mount a SUP paddle to your wing in place of a handle. The Paddle Mounts are ideal for downwind deflates.
